Hot Weather Safety Tips & Resources

Continued exposure to increased temperatures can result in a cascade of illnesses, including heat cramps, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, and hyperthermia. The City of Boston has declared a Heat Advisory for the City this Thursday July 27 until Friday, July 28 and it is important that we take the necessary precautions. Browse through these resources available to all families.

Please also check on older adults, people with disabilities, and people experiencing homelessness, and take caution not leaving children and pets unattended in a car. For more information about "keeping cool" in the City, visit this link.

The BCYF/Jackson Mann Community Center will be open as a cooling center this Thursday and Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Stay hydrated, rest when you can in shady areas or indoors. Be safe!
