School Counselors
Jodi Then is the High School Counselor at Boston Green Academy. Before joining BGA, Ms. Then spent 15 years working at a non-profit organization that specialized in college access and financial aid. In addition to counseling students and families on college admissions, financial aid and student loans, Ms. Then was responsible for training internal and external partners, including other high schools and non-profit organizations. She also worked as a consultant for the Boston Public Schools District and the Department of College Counseling, creating curriculum to help students transition from High School to College, and has collaborated with district leaders on college access and financial aid initiatives. She is also a presenter for the Massachusetts Educational Finance Authority (MEFA), giving workshops to families on admissions to financial aid.
Ms. Then has presented her work for local, regional, and national organizations, including the National School Counselors Association (MASCA) and the National College Access Network (NCAN). She holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Boston University and a Master’s degree from Bridgewater State College in School Counseling. A resident of Boston, she loves camping and bike riding in New England with her husband and two boys. email
Ms. Brea is a School Counselor for the Middle Grades (6-8). She attended UMass Boston where she earned her Masters in Education with a concentration in School Counseling. She also attended Emmanuel College where she studied Psychology and Sociology. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Dave Kramer is Boston Green Academy's Director of Green Programs. Prior to BGA, he served as Program Director for Planet Texas 2050, a climate change research program at the University of Texas (UT). Mr. Kramer spent five years in Austin, Texas but felt called back to Boston after having lived here for 15 earlier years. Aside from UT, he spent 20 years working with international environmental and humanitarian organizations and as a middle and high school English, US History, and environmental studies / outdoor education teacher in both Cali, Colombia and Boston. Mr. Kramer earned a Certificate in Outdoor Leadership at Greenfield Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in English from Dartmouth College, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. Outside of school, Dave spends time running, biking, searching for good tacos, and enjoying all that the four seasons offer here in New England along with his cherished family - his wife, daughter, son, and two silly dogs. email
Erick Peña is a 2nd-year postsecondary adviser at BGA with College Advising Corp. Mr. Pena supports students with planning for college, finding career programs, and applying for financial aid and scholarships. Mr. Pena graduated from Trinity College and is originally from Florida. He enjoys bird watching and spending time with his family.
Bryant Craft, Student Counseling Intern is currently pursuing his master's degree in School Counseling at Assumption University in Worcester, MA. Prior to Assumption, he earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from UMass Amherst. Outside of school, Mr.Craft is a nationally licensed soccer coach through the United States Soccer Federation. He has previously held coaching roles at the NCAA Division 1, 2, & 3 collegiate levels. He currently serves as a coach for the local youth soccer club Boston Bolts.
