Coach D. Profile - Leo Dorest.jpg

My name is Leonardo Dorest. My students refer to me as “Coach D.” My family is of Cuban and African – American descent. Originally from Boston, MA., (Columbia Point), my family moved to Cambridge when I was very young, where I attended Cambridge Public Schools. My family moved to New Orleans, LA., during my middle school years. I completed high school and two years of college before returning home to Boston, where I completed my college degree. I am a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., also referred to as the “Que Dawgs”, we are an international brotherhood made up of predominantly, college-educated African-American men. I have been an educator for 22 years. I taught elementary, middle, high school, and Jr. College. I began my career in BPS at the Timilty Middle School. I have also taught in Dallas and Houston Texas. This is my 9th year with BPS and my 2nd year at BGA.I am very excited to be your teacher here at Boston Green Academy. Fun Fact: I own a boat and love the ocean!
